Welcome!
The City of Orem, in partnership with the Mountainland Association of Governments, is embarking on the production of a detailed Bicycle and Pedestrian Study. This study will be the city's blueprint to create a bicycle and pedestrian friendly community. This year long process will wrap-up in October 2010.
To develop a successful and 'implementable' study, this effort will depend upon frequent and comprehensive public involvement by Orem residents. In order to understand your needs, issues, and ideas, your participation in this process is essential. Your input will help us focus on what matters most to you. Please see the 'Public Involvement' tab for ways you can help guide this effort!
Stay tuned to this website for project updates and announcements as we help make Orem a bicycle and pedestrian friendly city!
Thanks for Making our January 19th Charette a Huge Success!
The Orem Bicycle and Pedestrian Study Charette held on January 19th was a resounding success with over 100 community members in attendance. Participants were given 'clickers' that allowed constant feedback about different types of bicycle and pedestrian facilities during our presentation. There was also a very busy mapping excercise where participants were able to provide feedback on the existing pedestrian and bicycle facilities in Orem, including good facilities and trouble spots.

All of this feedback will now be incorporated into our own analysis and we will hold a second public workshop presenting our draft recommendations for feedback and comment sometime this Summer. Stay tuned to www.walkbikeorem.com for details of upcoming events.
Thanks for making a big impact on this study!
Attention Bikely.com users! (updated 11/17/09)
It has come to our attention that routes that you create will be private by default and we cannot search them. Please log back into www.bikely.com and select 'My Bikly' from the top menu, then select 'My Routes'. You will be presented with a list. If you have routes listed as 'under construction' then we cannot search them. Please select a route and after it loads click on the 'describe' tab and select the bubble that signifies that the route is 'public / visible to all'. Please repeat this last step for all of your routes under construction.
Your participation is greatly appreciated!
